She got her MLIS at the University of Alberta, working at the University’s Health Sciences Library and helping plan the MLIS student conference during her degree. She also has an MA in history from the UBC. She loves helping people find information as well as connecting people to relevant information sources. She has become the stats person in the NLLS Public Service Department, the Relais go-to, and the main conference planner.

When not attempting technical baking projects, Kayla plans wish list trips around the world (and occasionally goes on those trips), reads, and keeps up to date on anything true crime related.

Ina Smith is a Public Services Consultant with the Northern Lights Library System. She is helping update the NLLS collection policies and procedures and fine-tuning the NLLS physical collection, so that it may better serve our member libraries. Ina graduated with an MLIS from the University of Alberta in 2004. She was the Library Manager at the Bonnyville Municipal Library from 2005-2019. Ina also taught Grades 5-8 for 5 years at Dr. Brosseau School in Bonnyville and was co-owner/manager of the Bonnyville Home Hardware for 6 years. Spending time with her grandchildren and traveling the world are at the top of her list when restrictions are finally lifted.

Heather Elliott is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Northern Lights Library System (NLLS). She got her MLIS from the San José State University. The marketing role with NLLS is a mix of graphic design, digital marketing, social media, content marketing, search engine optimization, and website. She is a stronger believer in lifelong learning and learns something new every day. Before joining NLLS, Heather's library adventure started in the AWK Region in New Brunswick.

With a lifestyle that meant that she often moved, becoming a library member was a top priority when arriving in a new town.

Tracy Woloshyniuk undertook the job as library manager of the Newbrook Library in 2013 with only the love of books and a passion for working with people. She began her roll of the Director of Thorhild County Libraries in 2019 and began taking library related courses through SAIT at that time. She believes firmly in being active in the community she loves, and volunteers as Treasurer for Thorhild County Citizens on Patrol, and also as Chair of the Newbrook Historical society. When faced with the closing of her library, Tracy was able to raise all the funds to purchase new furniture, shelving and program materials for the new building she lobbied her local council to provide for the members of her community as the local library.

Tracy has lots of hobbies, reading, papercrafts, cooking and gardening to name a few. She has a love of animals and loves spending time with her dogs and horses. Her favorite pastime is time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
